Welcome to Omkari Yoga, authentic yoga classes in Bristol. Run by Debbie Thomas, who has been practising different styles of yoga for over 20 years and a 500 hour trained yoga instructor, Omkari Yoga promises to deliver authentic yoga to anyone - beginners looking to start their journey into yoga or more advanced students to deepen their practice.

About Omkari Yoga

Debbie Thomas RYT 500 IYN

Practising yoga in various traditions for over 20 years, Debbie qualified as a yoga teacher at the International Sivananda Vedanta Yoga Centre in Himalaya, India in 2009.  Debbie has taught for Universal Yoga and been a lead teacher with Yogaprema, assisting on their TTC in Goa.

Omkari Yoga was born followng her receipt of her ATTC 500 hours and now delivers authentic yoga classes around Bristol.​

Debbie has gone on to further study.

Level 1 & 2 ‘Radiant Child’ teacher training and has led many yoga workshops in schools.​

200 hr Soma Yoga ( Soma Yoga Medicine School) with Nicole Aaarons

25 hr Restorative Yoga

50 hr Yin Yoga, TCM module

300 hr Yoga Therapy and Trauma Informed Yoga

What is Yoga ?

Yoga means union of the mind, body and spirit with the Divine and while this refers to a certain state of conciousness both individual and Universal, it is also a method to help one reach that goal.

 

Typically classes with Omkari Yoga follow a traditional, exact and easy-to-learn system of Yoga that uses Asana (postures), Pranayama (breathing exercises) and Meditation to offer a way of achieving better health of the physical body, a more peaceful mind and a greater spiritual evolement. This is like a toolbox of skills that help us lead a more fulfilled and balanced life. Bringing the body, mind, emotions and spirit into harmony we can support ourselves to be free from disease and regular practice relieves us from everyday stress.
